Library Rules

The Oshkosh Public Library welcomes everyone to use our building and collections. Our goal is to provide a safe environment and offer a positive experience for everyone who visits the library.

To meet these goals the following conduct, behavior and acts are prohibited in the building:

  1. Rowdy or unsafe activity.
  1. Loud noises, loud talking or inappropriate language.
  1. Not wearing shoes or a shirt. 
  1. Blocking any entrance or fire exit. 
  1. Bringing pets into the building. 
  1. Leaving children under the age of 8 unattended without direct supervision.
  1. Using tobacco.
  1. Possessing alcoholic beverages.
  1. Sleeping.
  1. Panhandling, or selling goods or services.
  1. Unauthorized distribution of materials or gathering signatures for petitions.
  2. Leaving the library with library materials that have not been checked out.
  3. Damaging library materials, equipment, furniture, facilities or property.
  1. Inappropriate public display of affection.

Illegal activities will be reported to the police.
