The magic of making yourself right

Perhaps the goal of resilience is too big of an expectation right now? I don’t know about you, but simply staying sane sounds more realistic.  There’s a lot of pressure these days to stay well, but when everything in our lives has been flipped upside down, that’s a tall order.

In speaking with my clients and friends, I can assure you none of them are feeling very resilient; they’re feeling burnt out. In our current culture, burn out is seen as a personal weakness, rather than something that can easily happen to any of us with the right set of circumstances. It’s seen with wrongness.

Feeling wrong feels awful!  We feel judged and isolated, all the while trying to dig our way out! I want to share with you the magic of making yourself right.

It’s simple. Whatever you notice about yourself, make it right about you. You’re angry? Make it right. Tired? Make it right. Lonely? Make it right. Emotions and sensations are just feedback. They’re feedback about your needs and having needs doesn’t make you needy, it makes you human.

By saying YES to whatever arises within you, you will receive wise clues about how to take care of yourself.

What do you notice right now? Are you willing to make what you notice right about you? Are you willing to listen rather than fix? It’s a bold move, but making yourself right fills your self-trust bucket. You start to learn that you are actually on your own side.

Burn out is natural when our lives have been so severely disrupted. And it’s especially normal with these emotionally charged times. I beg you to be kind to yourself, and when you notice you’re tired, make it right about you and honor your needs.
