Freedom to Read Scavenger Hunt 2023

Starting Mon., Oct. 1, 50 books will be hidden at different locations around Oshkosh–ten copies of five titles, which are on the American Library Association’s Top 13 Most Challenged Books of 2022.

Find the hidden books by following the daily clues posted on the library’s Facebook page and First Floor bulletin board. If you locate one of the books, it’s yours to keep.

Rules for Freedom to Read Scavenger Hunt

• All clues will be posted on the library’s Facebook page.
• If you find a book, please send a photo to voss@oshkoshpubliclibrary.org so we know it has been discovered. Photos may be posted on social media.
• All books will be hidden in places that are open to the public. Please do not trespass on private property.
• All books will be wrapped in special packaging.
• You do not need to disturb anything to find the books. They will be easily visible in their hiding spots.
• Obey all local laws, guidelines, and regulations. Remember to use kindness when interacting with participating businesses and organizations.
• By choosing to participate, you assume all liability and hold harmless the City of Oshkosh, Oshkosh Public Library, participating businesses, organizations and all their employees, volunteers, and assignees.
