This is such a beautiful book to teach kids how to count. Each interactive page introduces a child to a new animal and many opportunities to count items on a page!

I think sloths are charming creatures and are perfect as the main characters in this story. In this book, there are good techniques to help little ones relax for bedtime or just calm down when feeling worried.
The world-building in this novel is phenomenal. The story centers around a group of seven girls, chosen from birth for their small stature and kept small through binding and limiting food intake, who must mine mountain tunnels for mica, which is essential for the communitity's survival.
