A clever seek-n-find picture book with dinosaurs on each page. Delight in the illustrations, some of which are tactile! See what you can discover!
This historical fiction is a story of Hurricane Katrina, based on real-life narratives but from a 12-year-old's perspective. Zane hadn't been visiting his grandmother in New Orleans for long when this catastrophic event hits. Great book for discussion about being prepared for emergencies, hurricanes, search and rescue, as well as New Orleans culture.
This is an empowering, reallistic, well-constructed story with endearing characters. The issues are relevant and may encourage a reader to seek additional information. These topics are of inner-city homelessness, poverty, mental health, and the efforts of other trying to help in their community. Great book for discussion.
