The Oshkosh Public Library (WI) is seeking a forward-thinking Managing Librarian to direct our Information Services Department and co-lead the library’s new Programming Team. This challenging position will oversee reference, local history/genealogy and technology services, as well as library programming for adults. The ideal candidate will work to shape and enhance the library’s role as a leading resource for information services in the Oshkosh community. We are especially interested in candidates who are skilled at mentoring and developing staff to meet the evolving needs of library users.
This is an exempt position that includes some weekend and evening hours. This is an entry level, part-time, 11-hour per week position. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED (These examples do not list all the duties which may be assigned; any one position may not include all the duties listed.)
Shelves library materials. Reads shelves.
Discharges bookdrops and in-house returns.
Handles incoming materials from other libraries.
Assists self-check customers.
Checks out and discharges reading collections for area nursing homes and day cares.
Prepares, repairs or reconditions library materials.
Assists with routine interlibrary loan procedures.
Performs other related work as assigned.
